A Photoelectric Skylight Polarimeter
Applied Optics, 1966A photoelectric skylight polarimeter to measure directly the Stokes parameters for plane polarized light is described. The basic principle of the instrument consists in the simultaneous measurement of the intensity of light (in the chosen spectral region) transmitted by polarizers oriented in four specific directions.

Spatially resolved scattering polarimeter
Optics Letters, 2009We demonstrate a compact, spatially resolved polarimeter based on a coherent optical fiber bundle coupled with a thin layer of scattering centers. The use of scattering for polarization encoding allows the polarimeter to work across broad angular and spectral domains. Optical fiber bundles provide high spatial resolution of the incident field.

A polarimeter is built to be used with the SCUBA-2 camera of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope to study polarized sub-millimeter radiations. We simulated the effect of the polarimeter on image quality and polarization measurements. © 2006 Optical Society of America.

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1955
An apparatus for measuring optical rotation produced by optically active substances is described in which light, after passing through a continuously rotating Polaroid disk, carrying a degree scale, then goes through a stationary Polaroid disk and is incident as sinusoidally modulated light upon a phototube, causing it to produce a signal (of audio ...

Performance reported efforts to calibrate a MWIR imaging polarimeter met with moderate success. Recent efforts to calibrate a LWIR sensor using a different technique have been much more fruitful. For our sensor, which is based on a rotating retarder, we have improved system calibration substantially be including nonuniformity correction at all ...

In PETRA the vertical beam polarization was measured using the following system: Circularly polarized photons are scattered by the electron beam. In the case of vertical polarization the vertical profile of the backscattered photons has asymmetries within an angle of 30 μrad.

A Bragg crystal oriented at 45 deg to an incoming beam of X-rays acts as a polarization analyzer. This crystal geometry preferentially reflects those X-rays that satisfy the Bragg condition and whose electric vectors are perpendicular to the plane defined by the incident and reflected photons.
