Precision of retardance autocalibration in full-Stokes division-of-focal-plane imaging polarimeters.

Optics Letters, 2019
We investigate the validity domain and precision of retardance autocalibration in full-Stokes imaging polarimeters based on a linear division-of-focal-plane polarization camera.

Calibration method for division of focal plane polarimeters.

Applied Optics, 2018
The division of focal plane polarimeters is fabricated out of nanowire polarization filters attached to the surface of a focal plane array. Due to limitations in the manufacturing process, the transmissivity of each nanowire polarization filter is ...

A capillary polarimeter tube

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1950
A technical description of a new capillary polarimeter tube and of several methods for securing cover glasses is given. The new tube has been used for precision measurements on sucrose, using a wire recorder to take data in a darkroom; for work with essential oils; and for a novel “optical titration”.

Passive UV imaging polarimeter

Applied Optics, 2020
The static polarimeter concept has a design and application flexibility potentially covering spectral ranges from < 220 n m to ∼ 2500 n m . The original breadboard model of the passive UV polarimeter with sensitivity to 260 nm included elliptical analysis ...

A Photoelectric Skylight Polarimeter

Applied Optics, 1966
A photoelectric skylight polarimeter to measure directly the Stokes parameters for plane polarized light is described. The basic principle of the instrument consists in the simultaneous measurement of the intensity of light (in the chosen spectral region) transmitted by polarizers oriented in four specific directions.

Spatially resolved scattering polarimeter

Optics Letters, 2009
We demonstrate a compact, spatially resolved polarimeter based on a coherent optical fiber bundle coupled with a thin layer of scattering centers. The use of scattering for polarization encoding allows the polarimeter to work across broad angular and spectral domains. Optical fiber bundles provide high spatial resolution of the incident field.

The SCUBA-2 Polarimeter

International Optical Design, 2006
A polarimeter is built to be used with the SCUBA-2 camera of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope to study polarized sub-millimeter radiations. We simulated the effect of the polarimeter on image quality and polarization measurements. © 2006 Optical Society of America.

Stroboscope Polarimeter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1955
An apparatus for measuring optical rotation produced by optically active substances is described in which light, after passing through a continuously rotating Polaroid disk, carrying a degree scale, then goes through a stationary Polaroid disk and is incident as sinusoidally modulated light upon a phototube, causing it to produce a signal (of audio ...

LWIR polarimeter calibration

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
Performance reported efforts to calibrate a MWIR imaging polarimeter met with moderate success. Recent efforts to calibrate a LWIR sensor using a different technique have been much more fruitful. For our sensor, which is based on a rotating retarder, we have improved system calibration substantially be including nonuniformity correction at all ...
