Assessment of the X- and C-Band Polarimetric SAR Data for Plastic-Mulched Farmland Classification

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
We present a classification of plastic-mulched farmland (PMF) and other land cover types using full polarimetric RADARSAT-2 data and dual polarimetric (HH, VV) TerraSAR-X data, acquired from a test site in Hebei, China, where the main land covers include

A phase-decomposition-based polarimetric coherence optimization method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2022
The interference between different scattering components in distributed scatterer (DS) makes it difficult to estimate the phase from DS. Recently, some methods based on eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) are proposed to separate scatterer components from DS,

Removal of Spectro-Polarimetric Fringes by 2D Pattern Recognition

open access: yes, 2012
We present a pattern-recognition based approach to the problem of removal of polarized fringes from spectro-polarimetric data. We demonstrate that 2D Principal Component Analysis can be trained on a given spectro-polarimetric map in order to identify and

Bridging Classical and Quantum Approaches for Quantitative Sensing of Turbid Media with Polarization‐Entangled Photons

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work bridges classical and quantum polarimetry toward quantitative quantum photonic sensing of turbid environments. Theoretical and experimental investigations reveal how polarization‐entangled photonic states evolve in turbid media, uncovering robust trends in entanglement evolution and paving the way for advanced quantum sensing in biomedical ...

Investigation of the capability of the Compact Polarimetry mode to Reconstruct Full Polarimetry mode using RADARSAT2 data

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2012
Recently, there has been growing interest in dual-pol systems that transmit one polarization and receive two polarizations. Souyris et al. proposed a DP mode called compact polarimetry (CP) which is able to reduce the complexity, cost, mass, and data ...

Recognition of Ships and Chaff Clouds Based on Sophisticated Polarimetric Target Decomposition

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2021
The recognition of ships from chaff cloud jamming is challenging because they have similar dimensions and radar cross sections. In this paper, we propose a polarimetric recognition technique with sophisticated polarimetric target decomposition.

Pupil Plane Multiplexing for Vectorial Fourier Ptychography

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This study proposes a cost‐effective, modality‐adaptive multichannel microscopy framework using pupil‐plane multiplexing. A custom pupil aperture at the Fourier plane encodes channel‐specific transfer functions with spectral or polarization filters, and model‐based reconstruction with channel‐dependent priors decodes them.

Unsupervised Classification of PolSAR Data Using a Scattering Similarity Measure Derived from a Geodesic Distance

open access: yes, 2017
In this letter, we propose a novel technique for obtaining scattering components from Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) data using the geodesic distance on the unit sphere.
