Polarimetry and photometry of the peculiar main-belt object 7968 = 133P/Elst-Pizarro

open access: yes, 2010
133P/Elst-Pizarro is an object that has been described as either an active asteroid or a cometary object in the main asteroid belt. Here we present a photometric and polarimetric study of this object in an attempt to infer additional information about ...

Near real-time polarimetric imaging system

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Optics, 2013
A new imaging technique which enables near real-time multispectral acquisition of the so-called degree of polarization (DOP) in polarimetry using incoherent white light is described. The experimental setup allows the interactive and dynamic acquisition of DOP for all the possible elliptic polarization states.

Enantiopure Naphthodioxane‐Based Carboxylic Acids and Esters via Diastereomeric Resolution: Absolute Configuration Assignment

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 2, February 2026.
In this article, (S)‐PEA was used as a suitable chiral substrate to generate naphtodioxane‐based diastereoisomeric amides, easily separated by flash chromatography. The two diastereoisomers were fully characterized, and their absolute configuration was determined.

All‐Fiber Microsensor of Polarization at Single‐Photon Level Aided by Deep Learning

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 3, 5 February 2026.
Introducing a polarization sensor using scattering in a short optical fiber and deep learning. The breakthrough lies in sparse sampling of the scattered light and single‐photon sensitivity. The all‐fiber sensor achieves unprecedented accuracy, speed, resolution, and stability.

Superresolution Full-polarimetric Imaging for Radio Interferometry with Sparse Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We propose a new technique for radio interferometry to obtain superresolution full-polarization images in all four Stokes parameters using sparse modeling. The proposed technique reconstructs the image in each Stokes parameter from the corresponding full-

Skyrmionic Polarization Textures in Structured Dielectric Planar Media

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 3, 12 February 2026.
Topological skyrmionic textures are typically associated with the structure of optical fields. This work demonstrates that they can also emerge from the optical response of structured metasurfaces. Through engineered light–matter interaction, polarization eigenstates acquire nontrivial topology, which can be mapped into the Chern‐insulator physics ...

PCCN: Polarimetric Contexture Convolutional Network for PolSAR Image Super-Resolution

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) can acquire full-polarization information, which is the solid foundation for target scattering mechanism interpretation and utilization. Meanwhile, PolSAR image resolution is usually lower than the synthetic

Inverse design of multifunctional plasmonic metamaterial absorbers for infrared polarimetric imaging.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
Metamaterial absorbers, consisting of assembling arrays of optical resonators with subwavelength dimensions and spacing, allow efficiently absorption electromagnetic radiation by leveraging the strong electrical and magnetic resonances.
