An X-ray polarimeter for hard X-ray optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Development of multi-layer optics makes feasible the use of X-ray telescope at energy up to 60-80 keV: in this paper we discuss the extension of photoelectric polarimeter based on Micro Pattern Gas Chamber to high energy X-rays.

Mode‐dependent Far‐field Radiation of Circularly Polarized Light by a Single Plasmonic Nanohelix

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
The numerical simulations explored the chiroptical response and far‐field radiation behaviors of single plasmonic nanoantennas transitioning into helical structures. This study highlights the ability of these plasmonic nanohelices to regulate the far‐field directionality of radiation power and circular polarization in plasmon‐exciton coupled systems ...

Polarimetry microlensing of close-in planetary systems

open access: yes, 2017
A close-in giant planetary (CGP) system has a net polarization signal whose value varies depending on the orbital phase of the planet. This polarization signal is either caused by the stellar occultation or by reflected starlight from the surface of the ...

Molecular Engineering for Enhanced Second‐Order Nonlinear Response in Spontaneously‐Oriented Evaporated Organic Films

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Intramolecular bridge‐locking frustrates detrimental anti‐parallel packing in evaporated organic films. This design enhances net polar orientation, leading to a twofold off‐resonance increase in the second‐order nonlinear susceptibility (χ(2)) without electric‐field poling.

A Transmissive X-ray Polarimeter Design For Hard X-ray Focusing Telescopes

open access: yes, 2015
The X-ray Timing and Polarization (XTP) is a mission concept for a future space borne X-ray observatory and is currently selected for early phase study. We present a new design of X-ray polarimeter based on the time projection gas chamber.

Spectropolarimetry of the Luminous Narrow-Line Seyfert Galaxies IRAS 20181-2244 and IRAS 13224-3809 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We observed the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies IRAS 20181-2244 and IRAS 13324-3809 with a new spectropolarimeter on the RC spectrograph at the CTIO 4m telescope.

Giant Polar Displacements via Strain Relaxation in Itinerant Ferromagnet SrRuO3 Freestanding Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The discovery of substantial Ru off‐centre displacements exceeding 30 pm in SrRuO3 freestanding films is reported, achieved by properly controlling the strain relaxation process to engineer an expanded lattice. The work shows that tailored strain relaxation strategies can be used to design magnetic polar metals with desired electronic states in ...

The Combined Effect of Orientation Angle and Material on PolSAR Images of Urban Areas

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) images containing cities may exhibit misclassified areas when using polarimetric decompositions. Several articles relate this problem to the effects of orientation between the facades of buildings and the ...

A Lack of Resolved Near-Infrared Polarization Across the Face of M51 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The galaxy M51 was observed using the Mimir instrument on the Perkins telescope to constrain the resolved H-band (1.6 $\mu$m) polarization across the galaxy.

Spin Matters: A Multidisciplinary Roadmap to Understanding Spin Effects in Oxygen Evolution Reaction During Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This roadmap offers a forward‐looking perspective on spin enhancement in the oxygen evolution reaction. It highlights how combining systematic experiments, advanced computational modeling, and novel magnetic, chiral, or hybrid materials can deepen the understanding of spin‐dependent catalytic mechanisms.
