Polarization-Division-Multiplexed Nonlinear Frequency Division Multiplexing
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2018We experimentally demonstrate dual-polarization nonlinear frequency division multiplexing using the continuous spectrum in 1680 km of normal dispersion fiber at a burst rate of 128Gbit/s. The DGD penalties are shown to be negligible.

Modelling of a polarization-division multiplexing soliton transmission system [PDF]
We have simulated numerically a polarization-division multiplexing soliton transmission system by using propagation equations with and without the third-order dispersion and Raman shift terms, respectively. It is found that the Raman shift terms can reduce the soliton interactions and hence the allowed transmission distance increases. Resume.

Crosstalk detection schemes for polarization division multiplex transmission [PDF]
Polarization division multiplex (PolDM) is a bandwidth-efficient and sensitive modulation format suitable for upgrading bandwidth-limited trunk lines. We show how control signals for polarization demultiplex can be obtained efficiently. For interleaved return-to-zero (RZ) signals, incoherent crosstalk has to be detected and minimized.

An experiment of de-multiplexing for polarization division multiplexing system by PSO algorithm
SPIE Proceedings, 2010We report an experiment of de-multiplexing automatically in a polarization division multiplexing system using a DSP based de-multiplexer. The searching algorithm was a modified Particle Swarm Optimization. We successfully demonstrated the de-multiplexing scheme both in a 20-Gb/s PolMux-NRZ-OOK system and a 40-Gb/s PolMux-RZ-DQPSK system.

Polarization division multiplexed optical eigenvalue modulation
2015 International Conference on Photonics in Switching (PS), 2015We propose a polarization division multiplexed optical eigenvalue modulation scheme based on the invariant property of eigenvalue associated to Manakov equation. We numerically demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Optical polarization division multiplexing at 4 Gb/s
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1992An optical polarization multiplexing system using BPSK coherent heterodyne detection to transmit 4 Gb/s over a 45-km standard single-mode fiber optical link at a receiver sensitivity of -35 dBm is described. The 4-Gb/s system has a potential receiver sensitivity of -40 dBm while using 2-Gb/s baseband electronics. >

Gigabit polarization division multiplexing in visible light communication
Optics Letters, 2014In this Letter, polarization division multiplexing is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time that we know of, in visible light communication systems based on incoherent light emitting diodes and two orthogonal groups of linear polarizers.

Terahertz polarization-division multiplexing within a four-wire waveguide
2022 Photonics North (PN), 2022We demonstrate a new metal-wire waveguide topology, namely a four-wire waveguide, which simultaneously acts as a broadband terahertz polarization-division multiplexer and as a novel platform to realize the independent manipulation of polarization-division multiplexed terahertz signals.

In a recent experiment it was demonstrated that polarization-division multiplexing was incompatible with wavelength-division multiplexing. We discuss a theoretical model that explains this result.

Silicon-Based Hybrid (de)Multiplexer for Wavelength-/Polarization-Division-Multiplexing
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2018A novel hybrid multiplexer for wavelength-division- multiplexing (WDM) and polarization-division-multiplexing (PDM) is proposed and realized by integrating a polarization-splitter-rotator (PSR) and an optical-filter array based on novel microring resonators (MRRs).
