Supersymmetric multiplex networks described by coupled Bose and Fermi statistics [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 91, 012810 (2015), 2014
Until now, no simple symmetries have been detected in complex networks. Here we show that, in growing multiplex networks the symmetries of multilayer structures can be exploited by their dynamical rules, forming supersymmetric multiplex networks described by coupled Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac quantum statistics.

Efficient large-scale multiplexing of fiber Bragg grating and fiber Fabry-Perot sensors for structural health monitoring applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Fiber Bragg gratings have been demonstrated as a versatile sensor for structural health monitoring. We present an efficient and cost effective multiplexing method for fiber Bragg grating and fiber Fabry-Perot sensors based on a broadband mode-locked ...

Synchronization in Delayed Multiplex Networks [PDF]

open access: yesEPL 111, 30010 (2015), 2016
We study impact of multiplexing on the global phase synchronizability of different layers in the delayed coupled multiplex networks. We find that at strong couplings, the multiplexing induces the global synchronization in sparse networks. The introduction of global synchrony depends on the connection density of the layers being multiplexed, which ...

Reconfigurable photonic integrated mode (de)multiplexer for SDM fiber transmission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A photonic integrated circuit for mode multiplexing and demultiplexing in a few-mode fiber is presented and demonstrated. Two 10 Gbit/s channels at the same wavelength and polarization are simultaneously transmitted over modes LP01 and LP11a of a few ...

A Highly Flexible Polarization Demultiplexing Scheme for Short-Reach Transmission

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
We propose and experimentally demonstrate an effective and highly flexible polarization demultiplexing scheme based on a Stokes analyzer, which could be also applied to the nonorthogonal polarization division multiplexing (NPDM) schemes.

Simulation of 1 x 2 OTDM router employing symmetric Mach-Zehnder switches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In high-speed all-optical time division multiplexed (OTDM) routers it is desirable to carry out data routing, switching, clock recovery and synchronisation in the optical domain in order to avoid the bottleneck due to optoelectronics conversion.

Fibre segment interferometry using code-division multiplexed optical signal processing for strain sensing applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A novel optical signal processing scheme for multiplexing fibre segment interferometers is proposed. The continuous-wave, homodyne technique combines code-division multiplexing with single-sideband modulation.
