Polarization-Division-Multiplexed Nonlinear Frequency Division Multiplexing
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2018We experimentally demonstrate dual-polarization nonlinear frequency division multiplexing using the continuous spectrum in 1680 km of normal dispersion fiber at a burst rate of 128Gbit/s. The DGD penalties are shown to be negligible.

We experimentally demonstrate a direct-detection polarization division multiplexed (PDM) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme without dynamic polarization tracking. Simply using a polarization-diverse receiver, the proposed multiple-input multiple-output assisted system can achieve bit-error rate of 10(-) over all possible received ...

Dual Polarization Nonlinear Frequency Division Multiplexing Transmission
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2018We experimentally demonstrate dual-polarization nonlinear frequency division multiplexing (NFDM) using the continuous spectrum in 1680 km of normal dispersion fiber, at the net data rate of 25.6 Gb/s. NFDM exhibits a gain of 0.4 dB in $Q$ -factor and 1 dB in total launch power when compared with burst mode OFDM.

Cross-Polarization Modulation in Polarization-Division Multiplex Transmission
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2010We show theoretically and with the aid of computer simulations that the nonlinear depolarization induced by cross-polarization modulation leads to crosstalk between the polarization-division multiplex (PolDM) subchannels during their demultiplexing. This additive crosstalk can be approximated as additive Gaussian noise, and we derive expressions to ...
