Neural electrodes were modified with poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) doped with chondroitin sulfate or dextran sulfate. Electrochemical and acute electrophysiological recordings were undertaken. The effective electrode area had the strongest correlation with electrophysiological response.
