Amidinium salts: Towards enabling electrochemistry in non-polar media from alkanes to ionic liquids

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2017
Abstract There is little known about electrochemical behavior in non-polar media due to lack of compatible, hydrophobic salts. In this work, this difficult challenge has been overcome by following a strategy based on designing and synthesizing a novel family of organic salts with highly-delocalized cations and anions.

Triboelectric Junction: A Model for Dynamic Metal-Semiconductor Contacts [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Static metal-semiconductor contacts are classified into Ohmic contacts and Schottky contacts. As for dynamic metal-semiconductor contacts, the in-depth mechanism remains to be studied. We here define a "triboelectric junction" model for analyzing dynamic metal-semiconductor contacts, where a space charge region induced by the triboelectric effect ...

Electrochemistry and Optical Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Electrochemistry exploits local current heterogeneities at various scales ranging from the micrometer to the nanometer. The last decade has witnessed unprecedented progress in the development of a wide range of electroanalytical techniques allowing to reveal and quantify such heterogeneity through multiscale and multifonctionnal operando probing of ...

Studies on Pitting Corrosion of Al-Cu-Li Alloys Part III: Passivation Kinetics of AA2098-T851 Based on the Point Defect Model. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, the passivation kinetics of AA2098-T851 was investigated by a fundamental theoretical interpretation of experimental results based on the mixed potential model (MPM).

Dynamic polarization of graphene by moving external charges: random phase approximation [PDF]

open access: yesPHYSICAL REVIEW B 80, 195405 (2009), 2009
We evaluate the stopping and image forces on a charged particle moving parallel to a doped sheet of graphene by using the dielectric response formalism for graphene's $\pi$-electron bands in the random phase approximation (RPA). The forces are presented as functions of the particle speed and the particle distance for a broad range of charge-carrier ...

Dynamics of electrocrystallization of dendritic zinc deposits in galvanostatic and potentiostatic modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In the work the dynamics of growth of zinc dendritic deposits in the galvanostatic and potentiostatic modes from an electrolyte containing 0.3 mol/L of ZnO, and 4 mol/L of NaOH has been studied. It has been shown that in galvanostatic conditions decrease

Influence of interface dipole layers on the performance of graphene field effect transistors [PDF]

open access: yesCarbon 152 680-687 (2019), 2019
The linear band dispersion of graphene's bands near the Fermi level gives rise to its unique electronic properties, such as a giant carrier mobility, and this has triggered extensive research in applications, such as graphene field-effect transistors (GFETs).

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.
