Polarization ray tracing in anisotropic optically active media
Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1991We present algorithms for polarization ray tracing through uniaxial optically active crystals, such as quartz, in a form specifically suited for integration into optical design software. These algorithms incorporate ray directions, polarization modes, optical path lengths, and Fresnel transmission and reflection equations.

Polarization Ray Tracing In Birefringent Media
SPIE Proceedings, 1988A method which uses a single algorithm to trace rays in isotropic media and both ordinary and extraordinary rays in uniaxial media is presented. This method is designed to be compatible with conventional raytracing algorithms so that it is easily integrated into existing raytracing programs.
