Influence of Target Polarization Scattering Characteristics on the Detection Performance of Polarization Diversity Radar

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2019
This study investigates the influence of the target polarization scattering characteristics on the detection performance of Polarization Diversity Radar (PDR) system with three typical working modes: full polarization mode, mixed polarization mode, and ...

Online Intergroup Polarization Across Political Fault Lines: An Integrative Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
We revisit the construct of political polarization and current distinctions between issue-driven and affective polarization. Based on our review of recent research on polarization from psychology, political science, and communication, we propose to treat

New approach to quarkonium polarization studies [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2010
Significant progress in understanding quarkonium production requires improved polarization measurements, fully considering the intrinsic multidimensionality of the problem. We propose a frame-invariant formalism which minimizes the dependence of the measured result on the experimental acceptance, facilitates the comparison with theoretical calculations,

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Quasi-simultaneous Optical Flux and Polarization Variability of the Binary Super Massive Black Hole Blazar OJ 287 from 2015 to 2023: Detection of an Anticorrelation in Flux and Polarization Variability

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We study the optical flux and polarization variability of the binary black hole blazar OJ 287 using quasi-simultaneous observations from 2015 to 2023 carried out using telescopes in the USA, Japan, Russia, Crimea, and Bulgaria.

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Inhomogeneously polarized light fields: polarization singularity indices derived by analogy with the topological charge

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2022
In this work, we study several different vector and hybrid light fields, including those with multiple polarization singularities. We derive polarization singularity indices by adopting a well-known M.V.

Pioglitazone plus (−)‐epigallocatechin gallate: a novel approach to enhance osteogenic performance in aged bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Electrochemical and Theoretical Evaluation of 5,5′-(Pyridine-2,6-diyl)bis(4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol) as a Novel Corrosion Inhibitor of Mild Steel in the Acidic Medium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
The inhibition properties of 5,5′-(Pyridine-2,6-diyl)bis(4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol) (PDPTT) on corrosion of mild steel in acidic media (1 M HCl) were analyzed by weight loss measurements and electrochemical techniques.
