Reduced Masseter Muscle Area Predicts the 6‐Month Outcome After Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in Older Adults

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
MCSA showed an inverse correlation with age upon admission. Male patients demonstrated higher MCSA values compared to female patients. The cutoff points for MCSA based on sex are dividing cutoff values of 358.75 mm2 for males and 263.25 mm2 for females. MCSA and incomplete recovery have a linear relationship.
