Burst Diaphragms Based on Carbon Black/Silica Hybrid Filler Reinforced Nitrile Rubber Compounds
Nitrile rubber (NBR) based elastomer compounds containing different carbon black/silica composition ratios were prepared using laboratory‐scale two roll mill. According the cure characterization results, addition of the reinforcing filler, either carbon black or silica, shortened the optimum cure time and also scorch time of samples compared to that of

Portable unilateral NMR was used to quantitatively map in a fully noninvasive way the moisture distribution in an ancient deteriorated wall painting before and after an intervention to reduce the capillary raise of water through the wall. Maps obtained at a depth of 0.5 cm clearly showed the path of the capillary raise and indicated that, after the ...

Effects of Different Artificial Agings on Structure and Properties of Whatman Paper Samples
With the aim at controlling cellulose degradation phenomena, the natural aging of Whatman paper samples was simulated through different artificial aging processes: thermal oxidation in air at constant temperature, photo‐oxidation under Xenon arc lamp, accelerating ageing in climatic chamber, and chemical oxidation with sodium methaperiodate.

The study evaluates the industrial feasibility of the selective dissolution recycling of polyamide 6 (PA6) waste, comparing it with the current industrial recycling methods (mechanical and chemical), in terms of environmental impacts and applicability. Solvent‐based recycling appears promising, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) between chemical and

A biocomposites studying from the cradle to the grave. Abstract In this work, polylactide (PLA) was loaded with wood flour (WF) or hazelnut shells (HSs) (10% and 20% of fillers). The matrix and biocomposites were fully characterized from a mechanical and rheological point of view to test their processability and mechanical performance.

Mass spectral characterisation of cyclic oligoesters in a biodegradable mulch film
Rationale Plastic mulch film manages weed growth and moisture loss on the surface of cropping beds. The chemical components of such plastics include polymer(s), additives and non‐intentionally added substances (NIASs). The unknown chemical nature and behaviours of these constituents require investigation due to their potential to add to the ...
