Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

Chinese Funding: A Curse to Africa

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Political Science
The role of China in the liberation of Africa from colonial rule cannot be down played as I laid a foundation to Africa today. Most African countries were aided by China militarily and ideologically in the fight against Western colonial rule.

Explaining institutional change : why elected politicians implement direct democracy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Why did representative politicians introduce direct democratic reforms, thus binding their own hands? This paper presents a formal model in which (1) voters are uncertain about their representative’s preferences; (2) direct and representative ...

β‐Elemene Rescues Radiation‐Induced Enteritis by Orchestrating a Host‐Microbiome Circuit That Fuels Epigenetic DNA Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

Dose‐Dependent Reprogramming of Chromatin Accessibility by SOX4 Drives the Transcriptional Response to Iron Overload

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that iron overload triggers widespread chromatin compaction and transcriptional repression in human granulosa cells, recapitulating features of endometriosis. The epigenetic reprogramming is orchestrated by a TFEB‐SOX4‐SWI/SNF axis, with SOX4 acting as a central, dosage‐sensitive regulator.

Money, Political Ambition, and the Career Decisions of Politicians [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we assess the impact of a variety of policies that may influence the career decisions of members of the U.S. Congress, using the empirical framework of Diermeier, Keane and Merlo (2005).

Harnessing MDM2‐Mediated Targeted Degradation of Transcriptional and Epigenetic Machinery to Disrupt Oncogenic Addictions in Pediatric Sarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MDM2 dependency in pediatric sarcomas is driven by a novel p53‐independent oncogenic cistrome alongside canonical p53 pathway suppression. This study introduces MDM2‐recruiting transcriptional and epigenetic machinery degraders (MDM2‐TEMADs) as a novel precision oncology modality.
