Stratigraphy and chronology of a 15ka sequence of multi-sourced silicic tephras in a montane peat bog, eastern North Island, New Zealand. [PDF]
We document the stratigraphy, composition, and chronology of a succession of 16 distal, silicic tephra layers interbedded with lateglacial and Holocene peats and muds up to c. 15 000 radiocarbon years (c.

Arctic Holocene proxy climate database – new approaches to assessing geochronological accuracy and encoding climate variables [PDF]
We present a systematic compilation of previously published Holocene proxy climate records from the Arctic. We identified 170 sites from north of 58° N latitude where proxy time series extend back at least to 6 cal ka (all ages in this article are in ...

Towards a radiocarbon chronology of the Late-Glacial: Sample selection strategies [PDF]
This paper outlines a dating program designed to test the reproducibility of radiocarbon dates on different materials of Late-Glacial age (plant macrofossils, fossil beetle remains, and the "humic" and "humin" chemical fractions of limnic sediments ...

Abstract This paper explores the relationship between wetland ecosystems and prehistoric lakeshore settlements within the Lake Ohrid basin (a biodiversity hotspot) by considering plant food systems at Ploča Mičov Grad, North Macedonia. The mid‐fifth millennium (c.4555–4373 to 4437–4241 cal BCE) waterlogged assemblage contained a diverse spectrum of ...

Allergenic pollen seasons and regional pollen calendars for Norway
AbstractSeasonal pollen allergy is a major public health concern, with many different pollen aeroallergens being present in the atmosphere at varying levels during the season. In Norway, information about spatiotemporal variation of pollen aeroallergens is currently lacking, leading to reduced ability to manage and treat seasonal allergies.

A POLLEN CALENDAR FOR SIENA (CENTRAL ITALY): PRELIMINARY DATA* [PDF]
SUMMARYA preliminary investigation on airborne pollen in Siena was carried out for 1978 using a Burkard trap. For each day pollen grains were counted according to family and expressed in number of grains trapped per m3 of air. The highest concentrations of airborne pollen grains occur in March with the Cupressaceae, Corylaceae, Butulaceae, Salicaceae ...

Palaeoenvironmental records along the eastern coast of Thailand remain sparse, with only a few studies attempting to reconstruct past climatic and environmental conditions. However, additional palaeoenvironmental, palaeoclimatic and sea‐level records are needed to improve our understanding of coastal evolution and local environmental changes.
