Kinetics of Antibody Responses and Effector Cell Sensitivity After High Dose Birch Extract Nasal Challenge
Allergy, EarlyView.High‐dose birch‐extract nasal challenge induced synchronous peaks at 4 weeks in serum specific IgE (sIgE) and basophil sensitivity. Mast cell sensitivity via tSPT and sIgG1 and sIgG4 responses peaked later, at 6–8 weeks. Preseasonal allergen exposure attenuated seasonal sIgE increase and prevented further rise in tSPT sensitivity.N. J. Campion, S. Villazala‐Merino, C. Morgenstern, L. Nemec, V. Stanek, A. Tu, M. Boreas, EarlyView. The Megalopolis Basin is located in the central Peloponnese (Greece), a region that is situated along one of the primary Pleistocene biogeographical corridors for intracontinental hominin migration. The basin comprises several hundred metres of Plio‐Pleistocene sediments alternating between clastics and lignites.Ines J. E. Clinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 226-238, March 2025.In a study assessing mobile health data, (i) adherence to rhinitis medication was highest for oral antihistamines and lowest for azelastine‐fluticasone, (ii) in weeks of partial adherence, azelastine‐fluticasone was associated with lower levels of reported rhinitis symptoms than other medication classes.Bernardo Sousa‐Pinto, Elísio M. Clinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.Volunteers stayed 3 h indoors and followed 1 h outdoors in a flowering meadow. Nasal mycobiome was analysed and aeroallergen content measured in nasal filters. Airborne fungal spores were quantified and fungal isolates were sequenced. Isolated fungal spores were used for stimulation of nasal epithelial cells.Annika Eggestein, Denise Rauer, Selina M.
