Monitoring of airborne pollen and pollen calendar of Cosenza, Southern Italy

Aerobiologia, 1992
From May 1986 to May 1989 surveys of airborne biological particles have been performed in the atmosphere of Cosenza, Italy with the aim of monitoring the presence of airborne pollen. The survey station is situated at Arcavacata of Rende, a hilly area 474 meters above sea level, 7 km north-west of the main town.

Pollen For Monitoring Environmental Pollution

1992
Pollen germination and pollen tube growth are affected by air pollutants in vivo and in vitro. A review of the effects on the different pollen parameters has been published earlier (Wolters and Martens, 1987). Since the reactions of plants to stress of any kind resemble each other, it is often difficult to distinguish the effects of air pollutants from

[Pollen monitoring in Poland].

Polski merkuriusz lekarski : organ Polskiego Towarzystwa Lekarskiego, 2004
The author presents the history of aerobiological studies in Poland. The first scientist to undertake research regarding this problem in Poland was Mieczysław Obtułowicz. The research on this topic was resumed again in Krakow and Rabka in the 1960s. since 1989, constant measurements of plant pollen and fungal spore concentrations have been conducted by

A new technique for monitoring pollen flow in orchids

Oecologia, 1989
The orchid Prasophyllum fimbria is pollinated by nectar-feeding native bees and wasps. The pollinia are patially separated from the viscidium by a stipe so that pollinia can be labelled with coloured histochemical stains without interfering with pollinarium removal.

[Research progress on pollen monitoring and pollen allergenicity of ragweed].

Zhonghua yu fang yi xue za zhi [Chinese journal of preventive medicine]
Ragweed, as an exotic invasive species, which is one of the most important allergens for hay fever, has been invading China for more than 80 years. The increasing number of people with hay fever makes effective treatment, as well as the prevention and control of pollen transmission critical.

Cypress in Italy: landscape and pollen monitoring.

Allergie et immunologie, 2000
In Italy the Cupressaceae pollen has been monitored by the Italian Aeroallergen Network (IAN) in collaboration with the Italian Research Council (CNR) since 1988. The measurements carried out over the last decade show a positive trend of the seasonal emission of the cypress pollen, whose flowering peak occurs in Italy from mid-February to mid-March ...
