Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Pollen morphology of Monsonia

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Botany, 1986
The pollen morphology of all 25 species of Monsonia L. (Geraniaceae) has been studied. The pollen grains are tricolpate, subprolate to spheroidal. The exine structure is reticulate. The nexine consists only of nexine 1 (footlayer). The pollen of Monsonia species cannot be identified to species level. They have to be assigned to pollen types or subtypes.

Interactions between maternal provisioning and natural selection on seed mass fluctuate across heat waves

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Changing climates are leading to more frequent and severe heat waves, potentially threatening plant populations. Both acclimation to stress and selection for heat‐escape or heat‐resistance phenotypes occur during heat waves. However, plastic responses and selection do not necessarily interact cohesively—even producing trait responses ...

Optimized Selenium‐Doped Nanocomposites for Enhanced Polymer Gel Performance in Permeability Reduction

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Excessive water production in mature oil fields necessitates robust shut‐off treatments, yet conventional polymer gels often fail under high‐temperature and high‐salinity conditions. This study aims to enhance gel thermal stability and mechanical strength by incorporating selenium‐doped Ag/AgO–ZnO nanocomposites synthesized via a novel green ...
