POLLEN STORAGE AND VIABILITY OF TWELVE CITRUS GENOTYPES IN BALI, INDONESIA

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this research was to obtain a method for pollen storage of Citrus species in Bali. Pollen from 12 Citrus genotypes was collected from five different regions; Petang, Plaga, Kintamani, Besakih, and Payangan Village.

Distinct Nasal Microbiome Profiles and Prediction Model for Allergic Rhinitis, Nonallergic Rhinitis, and Healthy Children

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
The alpha and beta diversity of the nasal microbiome differed among children with allergic rhinitis (AR), nonallergic rhinitis (NAR), and healthy controls (HCs). Compared to HC, AR had more Escherichia‐Shigella, Negativicoccus, and Campylobacter, while NAR had more Dolosigranulum and fewer Enterobacteriaceae.

Structure of the Arabidopsis receptor kinase SRF6 ectodomain determined from crystals obtained using the LRR crystallization screen

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, EarlyView.
A crystallization screen that has enabled the structural analysis of various extracellular domains of plant membrane receptor kinases is described together with the structure of the LRR domain of the receptor SRF6.Plant‐specific membrane receptor kinases with structurally diverse extracellular domains regulate key processes in plant growth, development,

Physiological studies on the storage of tobacco pollen.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1949
(1) The pollen grains of a tobacco variety-yellow orinoco-were tested about the longevity on their fertilizing power as well as the decreasing their vitality, by means of pollination test on the pistils. The pollen grains tested were previously stored under different conditions, in detail, some of them were set under ordinal room condition, keeping in ...

Bee community assembly is regulated by functional traits in pristine tropical forest environments

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Understanding the drivers of bee beta diversity across pristine environments in the Amazon is critical for ensuring biodiversity conservation, restoration, sustainable land use planning and economic development.

Effects of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) pollen storage conditions on pollen viability and progeny Mdh1 allelic frequency

open access: yes, 1988
Storing pollen for long periods could have advantages in germplasm maintenance because it would allow preservation of a large sample of genetic diversity in a very small area. This study tested different storage conditions on viability and gene frequency

A reappraisal of the Middle to Later Stone Age prehistory of Morocco Réévaluer la préhistoire du Maroc, du Middle Stone Age au Later Stone Age

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
Over the last 25 years, perceptions of the early prehistory of Northwest Africa have undergone radical changes due to new fieldwork projects and a corresponding growth in scientific interest in the region. Much of this work has been focused in Morocco, known for its extremely rich fossil and archaeological records in caves and rock shelters.

First record of the forensically important genus Protopiophila Duda (Diptera: Piophilidae) from South Korea and an integrative framework for forensic identification

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract The family Piophilidae is of significant forensic importance due to its association with late‐stage decomposition; however, the Korean piophilid fauna remains poorly studied, lacking comprehensive morphological and molecular data. This study reports the first record of the genus Protopiophila Duda from South Korea.

Genetic differentiation and adaptive evolution of buff‐tailed bumblebees in Asia

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic differentiation and local adaptation of the buff‐tailed bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) across its European and Asian populations. Using whole‐genome resequencing, we identified distinct genetic differences between populations, with Asian B. terrestris representing a unique genetic resource.

A preventive strategy for the control of aphids in sweet pepper using lacewings and micrococcinelid beetles

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Aphids pose a serious risk to horticultural crops. Current biocontrol strategies often fail due to the poor establishment of natural enemies when aphids are scarce. We evaluated the potential of two aphidophagous predators, Micromus variegatus and Scymnus interruptus, to be used as preventive biocontrol agents, released before aphid infestation.
