Cucurbits as a model system for crop pollination management [Elektronisk resurs]
Cucurbit crops have steadily increased in production over the last 50 years, particularly in Asia where pioneering technological advancements and genetic improvements have created new hybrid varieties.

Ancient hybridization and phylogenetic discordance: Exploring evolutionary complexity in Asteraceae
Abstract Premise Conflicting phylogenetic signals are common in plant phylogenomics and often reflect evolutionary histories shaped by processes like hybridization, incomplete lineage sorting, and whole‐genome duplication (WGD). We aimed to identify and assess these complex processes in the hyper‐diverse family Asteraceae to offer insight into the ...

AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF HONEYBEE POLLINATION MARKETS
Pollination by honeybees plays an important role in modern agriculture. Some crops are greatly dependent on honeybees (almonds, apples, avocados, blueberries, and cherries are examples) while the yields and quality of other crops are significantly ...

Abstract The Pleistocene is a key period for understanding the evolutionary history and palaeobiogeography of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The species was first documented in southeastern Iberia at the beginning of the Middle Pleistocene and appears to have rapidly spread throughout Southwestern Europe, where it was found in numerous ...

An Economic Valuation of Pollination Services in Georgia
The production of many crops depends on biotic pollination. As pollinator populations decline, assessments of the potential consequential loss of economic value are critical.

Abstract Teleocichla comprises small cichlids that inhabit the rapid streams of Amazonian rivers; however, there has been limited research on their encephalon morphology. This study examined the neuroanatomy of four species, focusing on volumetric measurements of their encephalon subregions, and providing a histological description of the encephalon of

Evidence of widespread pollen limitation in diverse specialty crops on commercial farms
Specialty crops (non-staple fruits and vegetables) have diverse pollination requirements and pollinator communities, yet production may be limited by pollen limitation.

The Effect of Flower Development and Pollination on the Fruit Set of Kalanchoe
The
