Single‐Atom Pt Anchoring on Self‐Doped ZrO2@G‐C3N4 Nanostructure Enables Efficient Photocatalytic Seawater Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grain‐like Zr3+‐ZrO2 and Pt single atoms are integrated into an S‐scheme Zr3+‐ZrO2@g‐C3N4 heterostructure to enable efficient visible‐light‐driven seawater hydrogen production. The combined effect of Pt single‐atom sites and the S‐scheme charge‐transfer pathway accelerates carrier separation, preserves strong redox ability, and markedly enhances ...

Resurrecting a Doctrine on its Deathbed: Revisiting Federal Common Law Greenhouse Gas Litigation After Utility Air Regulatory Group v. EPA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This Note considers how the Supreme Court’s decision in Utility Air Regulatory Group v. EPA (UARG) may have created a new opening for federal common law nuisance litigation as a means to address climate change.

Oil‐Coated Nanoplastics Induce Rapid Membrane Disruption and Severe Intestinal Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oil‐rich food contact dramatically amplifies MNP release from plastic takeout containers, producing oil‐coated nanoplastics with altered surface properties and rapid membrane‐disruptive effects. These particles cause severe intestinal barrier damage and immune dysfunction in mice, and risk modeling suggests that long‐term gastrointestinal burdens may ...

Transport and energy in India. Energy used by Indian transport systems and consequent emissions: the need for quantitative analyses (Well-to-Wheel, Lifecycle) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The purpose of this work is, at first, a general overview on the state-of-art of the transportation system in India outlining the related energy consumption, for the different transport modes, with consequent estimated emissions.

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

The international stock pollutant control: a stochastic formulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we provide a stochastic dynamic game formulation of the economics of international environmental agreements on the transnational pollution control when the environmental damage arises from stock pollutant that accumulates, for ...

Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.
