Biomechanical evaluation of Gamma 3 nail with anti-rotation screw fixation for unstable femoral neck fractures: a biomechanical study

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aims to evaluate the biomechanical performance of the Gamma 3 nail with an anti-rotation screw (GNS) and compare it to two established gold-standard methods for treating unstable femoral neck fractures (UFNFs).

Evaluation of Long-Term Skid Resistance in Granite Manufactured Sand Concrete

open access: yesLubricants
The widespread application of granite manufactured sand (GS) concrete in pavement engineering is limited by issues such as suboptimal particle size distribution and an unclear optimal rock powder content.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Complete disproportionation of duplex poly(dT)*poly(dA) into triplex poly(dT)*poly(dA)*poly(dT) and poly(dA) by coralyne.

open access: yesNucleic acids research, 2002
Coralyne is a small crescent-shaped molecule known to intercalate duplex and triplex DNA. We report that coralyne can cause the complete and irreversible disproportionation of duplex poly(dT)*poly(dA). That is, coralyne causes the strands of duplex poly(dT)*poly(dA) to repartition into equal molar equivalents of triplex poly(dT)*poly(dA)*poly(dT) and ...

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

A Reconfigurable Low-Voltage and Low-Power Millimeter-Wave Dual-Band Mixer in 65-nm CMOS

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we propose, investigate, and demonstrate a reconfigurable low-voltage and low-power millimeter-wave mixer in a 65-nm CMOS, which can be switched as either a subharmonic mixer (SHM) or a fundamental mixer (FM) for the dual-band applications.

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

Immune‐Driven Expression in Inclusion Body Myositis With T‐Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives T‐cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (T‐LGLL), reported in up to 58% of inclusion body myositis (IBM) patients, is a rare leukemia of cytotoxic or less commonly helper T cells. The range of myopathies in T‐LGLL and the impact of coexisting T‐LGLL in IBM are not well understood. Our objectives are to investigate the spectrum of
