Thermo-mechanical processing of sugar beet pulp. III. Study of extruded films improvement with various plasticizers and cross-linkers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Thermoplastic sugar beet pulp (thermo-mechanical processing was discussed in previous studies) was formed into film strips by extrusion. Film tensile properties are discussed according to the molecular structure of external plasticizer.

A Microrheological Study of Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) Elastomer/Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate) (PMMAelast/PET) Blends [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2017
This study involved an evaluation of the influence of phase inversion in poly(methyl methacrylate) elastomer/poly(ethylene terephthalate) binary blends (PMMAelast/PET) and the effect of the addition of poly(methyl methacrylate-glycidyl methacrylate-ethyl

Comparison of the protective efficiency of polymethacrylates with different side chain length for AA2024 alloy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
The protective properties of polymethacrylate coatings with different side chain lengths for 2024 aluminum alloys were studied, focusing on the chain length increase but also on the Ar-plasma pretreatment applied to the metal surface.

Studies on the Photodegradation of Poly(Methyl Methacrylate),

open access: yes, 1978
Abstract : Although poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, is known to degrade when exposed to ultraviolet radiation, studies at wavelengths other than 253.7 nm have not been done. The lack of knowledge about the mechanism of degradation of PMMA at wavelengths other than 253.7 nm hinders efforts to develop short-term test methods for predicting the long-term

Renewable Fabric Surface-Initiated ATRP Polymerizations: Towards Mixed Polymer Brushes

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
A totally new approach in the synthesis of mixed polymer brushes tethered on polyamide (PA) surfaces is presented herein. As a proof of concept, two types of homopolymers were synthesized in sequential surface-initiated atom transfer radical ...

Double-Miniemulsion Preparation of Fe3O4/Poly(methyl methacrylate) Magnetic Latex

open access: yes, 2009
Magnetic poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microspheres were prepared by double-miniemulsion polymerization. First, oleic acid coated magnetite particles synthesized by means of coprecipitation were dispersed into octane to obtain a ferrofluid.

Characterization and Application of Poly(propylene-b-methyl methacrylate) as a Compatibilizer for Polypropylene/Poly(methyl methacrylate) Blend [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer Journal, 1991
A diblock copolymer of propylene and methyl methacrylate (MMA), prepared by the living coordination polymerization of propylene followed by the subsequent polymerization of MMA, was characterized in detail, and the effect of the copolymer as a compatibilizer for the blend of isotactic polypropylene (PP) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) was ...

Synthesis and cell adhesion studies of linear and hyperbranched poly(butyl methacrylate) and poly(t-butyl acrylate) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A library of polymers/oligomers with three different architectures was synthesised. Short chain, linear oligomers were produced by performing oxidative cleavage on a poly(butyl methacrylate-co-butadiene) polymer.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.
