This study introduces an in situ UV torsional force spectroscopy method to track how polymers harden under UV light. The technique maps stiffness and energy loss beneath the surface in real time. It reveals how cross‐linking develops and identifies regions with different mechanical behavior, helping optimize UV curing processes in polymer materials ...

Crosslinked poly(vinyl alcohol) membranes
Progress in Polymer Science, 2009Abstract The inherent hydrophilicity of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) makes it an attractive polymer for water treatment applications based on membranes. Thermal and chemical resistance and a high anti-fouling potential are accompanied by high water permeability.

Thermodynamic properties of poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl alcohol-vinyl acetate) hydrogels
Macromolecules, 1993Osmotic and light scattering observations are reported for chemically cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl alcohol-vinyl acetate) hydrogels and the corresponding semidilute polymer solutions. The osmotic contribution of the network polymer is obtained from swelling pressure and shear modulus measurements.
