Electrospun fibrous sorbents for the removal of uranium and americium from aqueous media

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Polymethacrylate‐based electrospun microfibers with tertiary amino functionalities are evaluated as adsorbents for U‐232 and Am‐241 in both simplified and complex (seawater) water matrices, highlighting their ability for efficient actinide removal. Abstract Polymethacrylate‐based electrospun microfibers containing tertiary amino functionalities were ...

The Evolution of Crystal Structure in Polypropylene as It Goes From Pellet to Powder to Print in Powder Bed Fusion Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Small angle x‐ray scattering provides insight into the change in crystalline structure in polypropylene molecular weight blends as the polypropylene is transformed from commercial pellets to a powder suitable for powder bed fusion (PBF), and then further transformed to a part printed by PBF.

Effect of Antioxidants and Compatibilizers on Gel Formation and Film Quality of Polyethylene Films With Recycled Content

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
This paper and evaluates the quality variations that arise from the difference in PCR PE batches of the commercially produced films with PCR PE content then studies the effect of antioxidants and compatibilizers on the gel presence and seal characteristics of packaging films produced from 100% PCR PE.

Application of Circular Economy Principles to Power Generation: Extending the Life of A Hydropower Plant by Pumped Hydro Energy Storage

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The application of circular economy, which aims to maximize efficiency and reduce waste, to renewable energy sources necessitates, given the intermittent nature of the latter, robust energy storage solutions to ensure grid stability and avoid wasting energy.

Dual‐Functionality, Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles for Actuation and Motion Sensing in Smart Wearable Systems

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This work presents a biofriendly carbon nanotube yarn artificial muscle operating either as an in‐air unipolar actuator or as a self‐powered ionotronic strain sensor. Using a non‐volatile eutectogel‐derived electrolyte, the system achieves up to 2.9% contraction and 0.5 mV/% strain sensing sensitivity.

State‐Programmable Conductive and Reactivatable Bio‐Adhesive for High‐Fidelity Epidermal Biointerfaces

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A printable, reactivatable conductive adhesive (RCA) transitions from a robust, non‐tacky solid film into a soft, conformal biointerface upon solvent activation. By adapting to complex skin microtopography and hair‐covered scalp, the state‐programmable adhesive achieves strong adhesion and low interfacial impedance, enabling high‐fidelity EEG and pulse
