Organosilicon Hybrid Materials Derived From Epoxide‐Functionalized Twin Monomers: Novel Adhesion Promoters for Composites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the polymerization of epoxide‐functionalized twin polymers providing organic‐inorganic hybrid materials with promising potential as novel adhesive composites. ABSTRACT The synthesis and characterization of epoxide‐functionalized twin monomers is reported, comprising glycidyl ether and epoxycyclohexane derivatives of 4H‐1,3,2‐

Interplay between Lithium Intercalation and Plating during Fast Charging of Lithium‐Ion Batteries Investigated by Operando NMR Spectroscopy

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Lithium plating is investigated using operando nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and a three‐electrode design. The onset of plating occurs at a negative potential below −100 mV, while NMR spectra offer insights on the competition between graphite lithiation, plating, and re‐intercalation during charging.

Poly(ethylene Glycol)‐Based Peptidomimetics (Pegtides) of Antimicrobial Peptides

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is commonly used to improve the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of therapeutic candidates by conjugation. Here PEG is exploited for peptidomimetic conversion of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), as candidate antibacterial agents, by replacing their polyamide backbone. The pegtides obtained thereby can be readily synthesized
