Thermoresponsive Gel‐Yarn Composites Enable Low‐Temperature Tensile Actuation in Twisted and Coiled Polymer Artificial Muscles

Thermoresponsive gel–yarn composites integrate poly(MAA‐co‐OEGMA) hydrogels with twisted and coiled polyester yarns to enable reversible tensile actuation between 25°C and 50°C. Hydrogel swelling and deswelling generate internal stresses that drive lengthwise actuation, achieving isotonic strains up to 39%.

Comparison of powder impregnation and hybrid commingled non‐wovens for PA6/rCF nonwoven composites. The two‐step powder route gives lower voids and higher properties, while the single‐step hybrid route is limited by precursor inhomogeneity and high void content.
