Catalytic degradation of polybutadiene

open access: yesPolymer Degradation and Stability, 2004
The effect of Cobalt Fischere-Tropsch catalyst on the thermal degradation of cis-1,4 polybutadiene, polystyrene, chloride) and poly(vinyl acetate) in solution was investigated at various temperatures.

Impact modification of poly(caprolactam) by copolymerization with a low molecular weight polybutadiene [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer, 1988
Caprolactam and a reactive, low molecular weight polybutadiene were polymerized in an autoclave, followed by post-condensation in the solid state. The rubber concentration was varied (0–30 wt%).

Arborescent Graft Polybutadienes

Macromolecules, 1997
Cascade-branched, “graft on graft” polybutadienes, denoted arborescent graft polymers, were prepared by hydrosilylation of polybutadiene vinyl groups with chlorodimethylsilane, followed by grafting with living polybutadiene chains. Repeated hydrosilylation−anionic grafting cycles led to a treelike outward growth, yielding well-defined, spherically ...

Sorption and diffusion of ethanol vapor in polybutadiene/acrylonitrile, polybutadiene/styrene and polybutadiene based polyurethanes

European Polymer Journal, 2004
The sorption and diffusion behavior of ethanol vapor in series of polyolefine based polyurethanes (PU) made from hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene/acrylonitrile (HTBN), hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene/styrene (HTBS) and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) were investigated by using the quartz-spring, DSC, FTIR and AFM. The equilibrium absorption

Phase Behavior of Polystyrene/Polybutadiene and Polystyrene/Hydrogenated Polybutadiene Mixtures:  Effect of the Microstructure of Polybutadiene

Macromolecules, 1998
The effect of the microstructure on the phase behavior of mixtures of polybutadiene (PB) and poly(ethylene-co-1-butene) (PEB) with polystyrene (PS) has been investigated. A series of PBs with 1,2-addition content ranging from 7 to 93% were synthesized by anionic polymerization, and a portion of each was subsequently hydrogenated to yield PEB.

Synthesis of isoprenic polybutadiene macromonomers for the preparation of branched polybutadiene

European Polymer Journal, 2019
Abstract Polybutadiene macromonomers with a high 1,4-microstructure content and a polymerizable isoprene end group were synthesized by termination of living polybutadienyllithium chains. While different isoprene derivatives were investigated as terminating agents for the preparation of the macromonomers, 2-bromomethyl-1,3-butadiene provided the best ...

Diffusion and sorption of benzene vapor through polybutadiene‐, polybutadiene/styrene‐, and polybutadiene/acrylonitrile‐based polyurethanes

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2004
AbstractA series of polyurethane (PU) films made from toluene diisocyanate (TDI), 1,4‐butanediol (BDO), and hydroxyl‐terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene/styrene (HTBS), or hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene/acrylonitrile (HTBN) was synthesized by solution polymerization.

Structure of Polybutadienes

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1967
Abstract Polybutadienes made with six different catalyst systems were examined: (1) butyllithium, (2) “nickel-based”, (3) alfin, (4) “titanium-based”, (5) “cobalt-based”, and (6) free radical emulsion. The microstructure and macrostructure of the polybutadienes have been determined and are compared to the results published in the literature ...
