Polycarbonate

2009
Abstract Major Applications Polycarbonate resins are used in a very wide variety of applications primarily for the production of durable goods [1–3]. It is a naturally clear and colorless polymer but can be provided in many transparent, translucent, or opaque colors. The polymer has an excellent balance of high heat resistance, stiffness,

A Simple Method for Quantifying Polycarbonate and Polyethylene Terephthalate Microplastics in Environmental Samples by Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry

, 2017
Microplastics (MPs) have frequently been found in the environment. However, studies of the quantification methods for MPs are still needed. Plastics are polymers with different degrees of polymerization.

Mechanically Linked Polycarbonate

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2003
The synthesis, by solid-state copolymerization, and characterization of the first polycatenanes based on a commercial polymer are reported. Various amounts of a benzylic amide [2]catenane, the corresponding macrocycle, and a rigid bisphenol fluorene derivative have been quantitatively and homogeneously incorporated into bisphenol A polycarbonate.

Notch sensitivity of polycarbonate and toughened polycarbonate

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2003
AbstractNotch sensitivity, the effect of a notch radius on the impact behavior of polycarbonate and rubber‐toughened polycarbonate, is investigated by using a model based on the slip‐lines field theory. Impact strength, determined by the Charpy impact test, was found to increase drastically with an increasing notch radius for pure polycarbonate ...

Polycarbonate

Chemie in unserer Zeit, 2003
