Phylogeny of Phyllodoce (Polychaeta, Phyllodocidae)
Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, 1993Abstract The phylogeny of 13 species of the polychaete genus Phyllodoce Lamarck is estimated from 23 morphological characters, totalling 54 character states. The genus is large, with over 100 nominal species, but, since both available material and descriptions for many species are inadequate, a smaller number of species was included in the analysis.

Journal of Zoology, 1967Of four species studied, tolerance of extreme temperatures in greatest in Spirorbis pagenstecheri (which extends highest on the shore) and least in S. corallinae (which always occurs immersed in water). The latter species breeds between May and August, the other three from May to October. S.
