Carbonado: Natural Polycrystalline Diamond
Science, 1969Carbonados are porous aggregates of mostly xenomorphic diamond crystallites ranging in diameter from a fraction of a micron to over 20 microns. Crystalline inclusions (up to 3 percent) occur in the pores of the crystallites and consist mainly of orthoclase and small amounts of other igneous, metamorphic, and secondary minerals.

Vacancies in polycrystalline diamond films
Physical Review B, 1996Positron-lifetime spectroscopy has been performed in concert with photoluminescence to investigate vacancy-related point defects in polycrystalline diamond films grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Undoped films extensively contain vacancies including monovacancies, divacancies, and vacancy clusters.

To the synthesis of polycrystalline diamond
High Pressure Research, 1990Abstract The sintering system “Diamond-Graphite-Cobalt” is investigated by means of a High Pressure - High Temperature - Belt - Apparatus. Described are the sintering conditions used and some of the properties of the compacts obtained. Good sintering structures and hard PCD (up to 50 GPa) were obtained at 7,5 GPa and 1500°C.

Polycrystalline Diamond Compact Bit Hydraulics
SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1982ABSTRACT It is well understood and documented that bottom-hole hydraulics plays an important role in conventional diamond bit performance. Recent industry experience has shown a similar importance with the new synthetic diamond compact bits.
