Incoherent Neutron Scattering by Polycrystals
Physical Review, 1954General expressions are given for the first terms in the expansion in powers of the neutron to nuclear mass ratio of the total cross section for incoherent scattering of neutrons by polycrystals. Special limiting cases of these expressions had been published earlier.

Polycrystals, Composites and Aggregates
1999This chapter covers mixtures which are not homogeneous. In a polycrystalline specimen of a single component only the orientation of the crystallites varies, while in composites and aggregates there are also two or more distinct components forming a mosaic throughout the solid.

Grain assemblage in polycrystals
Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1994Abstract This overview describes an emerging new approach to the study of grain boundary crystallography and properties in polycrystals, namely studies of the connectivity network of grain boundaries and grain boundary junctions in a system, which has been called ‘grain assemblage’.

A theory for flow of polycrystals
Acta Metallurgica, 1967Abstract A theory is presented to account for the strain rate dependence of the steady state flow stress for polycrystalline metal specimens. It is shown that an excellent agreement can be obtained between theory and experiment if grain boundary sliding is assumed to be controlled by Newtonian friction while the flow of the crystalline matrix is ...
