Spatial distribution of PAH concentrations and stable isotope signatures (δ13C, δ15N) in mosses from three European areas – Characterization by multivariate analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) concentrations and N, C stable isotope signatures were determined in mosses Hypnum cupressiforme Hedw. from 61 sites of 3 European regions: Île-de-France (France); Navarra (Spain); the Swiss Plateau and Basel area ...

Investigations of the Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon and Elemental Profile of Smoked Fish

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Fish are vulnerable to environmental pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and heavy metals. As one of the most commonly applied processing methods, the smoking of different species has been applied globally.

Alteration and release of aliphatic compounds by the polychaete Nereis virens (Sars) experimentally fed with hydrocarbons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In the laboratory, marine worms were fed with a mixture of algae and several aliphatic hydrocarbons for 15 days. After ingestion by the worms, 34.9% of hydrocarbons are found in the faeces and only 3.1% accumulated in the gut.

Quality of underground water and hydro-geological situation caused by oil exploitation in the area of Kikinda [PDF]

open access: yesGlasnik Srpskog Geografskog Društva, 2010
Numerous oil fields were discovered in the area of North Banat and its regional centre, the city of Kikinda. These oil fields were explored and exploited in the second half of the XX century.

A systematic review on the effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on cardiometabolic impairment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2017
Background: Various epidemiological studies have shown that exposure to environmental pollutants including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) might increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and their risk factors.

Dataset of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon recoveries from a selection of sorbent tubes for thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis

open access: yesData in Brief, 2020
This dataset contains raw area counts and percent recoveries of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) standards desorbed from selected sorbent tubes and analyzed using thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TD-GC/MS).

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Bovine Lens

open access: yesOphthalmic Research, 2009
A study was performed to detect the presence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in bovine eyes. Twenty fresh bovine eyes were used to detect the presence of PAHs in lens, vitreous and aqueous by HPLC and spectrofluorometer. In lenticular tissue the mean amount of PAHs was 0.0271 μg/g and the mean level of PAH in each lens was 0.059 μg.

Impact of carwash discharge on stormwater quality (Toulouse, France) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The contribution of discharge from carwashes to pollutant levels in stormwater was evaluated. Five carwashes and two outlets in the city of Toulouse (France) were selected. Water samples were collected from December 2006 to December 2007.
