A Review- Tribological performance of PEEK (Polyether-Ether-Ketone) Coating

2021
The present study reviews tibological perfomance of PEEK (Polyetheretherketone)coating on metallic parts for several environment coditions in automotive, petrochemical, Oil and Gas industries. Protection of metallic components under wear and corrosive condition is the main challenge for industies.

Low temperature direct bonding of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and Pt

2015 10th International Microsystems, Packaging, Assembly and Circuits Technology Conference (IMPACT), 2015
The direct bonding between polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and Pt was feasible at 150 °C via the surface modification using vacuum ultraviolet (VUV). This technology will be of practical use in the eco-friendly fabrication of light-weight and bio-inert electronic system, such as a body-implantation medical device.

Ultrasonic evaluation of polyether ether ketone and carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK

Journal of Materials Science, 2010
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and carbon fiber-reinforced (CFR) PEEK are commonly used in medical implants. This study evaluated the mechanical moduli of PEEK and CFR PEEK using nondestructive, ultrasonic tests. The Young’s modulus of CFR PEEK was determined in all the spatial directions. Ultrasonic attenuation has not been studied extensively in PEEK,

Measuring fatigue crack growth and closure in Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK)

International Journal of Fatigue, 2017
Abstract Throughout industry, polymers are being used to replace parts that were previously fabricated from metals. Thus, the fatigue resistance of polymers needs to be well understood. Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) is often chosen for its good mechanical properties and high glass transition temperature.

Fatigue Modeling for Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) With Mean Strain Effects

Volume 9: Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Fluids, 2015
In this study, the fatigue behavior of a polyether ether ketone (PEEK) polymer was investigated under uniaxial strain-controlled conditions with and without mean strain. Experimental study included a series of fully-reversed fatigue tests at five strain amplitudes (2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, and 4%) and fatigue tests at three mean strain values (2%, 2.5%, and

Characterization of the thermoresponsive shape‐memory effect in poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK)

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2013
ABSTRACTWe conducted a systematic experimental investigation to characterize the shape‐memory effect in a commercial poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK), which is a very important high‐temperature polymers at present. The focus was on the influence of the programming conditions and heating temperature for recovery on the shape‐recovery ratio (Rr).

SURFACE MODIFICATION OF POLYETHER ETHER KETONE (PEEK) FILMS FOR FLEXIBLE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS

The Journal of Adhesion, 2002
The surface of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) films was modified using plasma treatment, corona, or surface etching to improve their adhesion with regard to glued copper foils and copper layers generated by physical vapor deposition. After the pretreatments, surface chemical analysis was performed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

An atomistic view of heat propagation from graphene to polyether ether ketone (PEEK)

Computational Materials Science, 2020
Abstract Graphene is a two-dimensional form of carbon that has shown outstanding potential as an additive to polymer composites. Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a thermoplastic polymer that has been used extensively in industrial applications due to its high temperature stability, as well as other mechanical and chemical properties.

Metallization of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) by copper coating via cold spray

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2018
Abstract The metallization of polymer-based materials via cold spray has been attractive to improve its thermal and electrical properties, while the direct deposition of thick Cu coating was rarely reported. In this work, relatively low process parameters were used to metallize PEEK substrate via cold spray to enhance the electrical properties of ...
