Thermosetting mechanism of polyethersulfone

Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie, 1988
AbstractThermosetting mechanism of paint‐use polyethersulfones was studied by utilizing FTIR/PAS and ESCA. As a result, it was confirmed that the oxygen in the air has an effect on the thermosetting mechanism. That is, the polyethersulfone film were baked from the surface, and proceeded according to reaction (4).

Polyethersulfones with Improved Thermophysical Properties

Polymer Science, Series D, 2019
New halogen-containing condensation monomers are synthesized via high-temperature polycondensation, on the basis of which, and with the use of 4,4'-dichlorodiphenyl sulfone, new polyethersulfones containing dichloroethylene groups in the main chain are obtained.

Blending Sulfonated Polyethersulfone to Improve the Blood Compatibility of Polyethersulfone Membrane

2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, 2009
To improve the blood compatibility of polyethersulfone (PES) membrane, sulfonated polyethersulfone (SPES) was synthesized through an electrophilic substitution reaction and PES/SPES blending membranes were prepared. The characterization of the SPES was studied by FTIR.

Improvement of Hydrophilicity and Blood Compatibility on Polyethersulfone Membrane by Blending Sulfonated Polyethersulfone

Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2009
Polyethersulfone (PES) is widely used as biomaterials due to its thermal stability, mechanical strength, and chemical inertness. Nevertheless, their blood compatibility is still not adequate for hemodialysis and blood purification. In this study, the sulfonated polyethersulfone (SPES) was synthesized through an electrophilic substitution reaction, and ...

Compatibility of Polyethersulfone/Polycarbonate Blends

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
polycarbonate (PC), polyethersulfone (PES) and a multi-block random copolymer of PES and PC were blended. It was found that the interfacial adhesion was enhanced, the size of the dispersed phase was reduced and PES and PC formed an interlocking structure with the copolymer, which suggest the addition of the compatibizer may improved the miscibility ...

Photodegradation of polyethersulfone and polysulfone

Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1999
Abstract The photolysis and the photooxidation of polyethersulfone (PESF) and bisphenol-A polysulfone (PSF) have been investigated under polychromatic (λ>300 nm) and monochromatic irradiations (254 and 365 nm). Under vacuum exposure, as a result of direct absorption of the incident radiation by the basic backbone structure of polyarylsulfones (PESF ...

Morphological and performance evaluation of highly sulfonated polyethersulfone/polyethersulfone membrane for oil/water separation

Journal of Polymer Research, 2020
This study includes the fabrication of highly sulfonated polyethersulfone (SPES)/polyethersulfone (PES) blended membranes with superior properties for effective oil/water separation. In this regard membranes with different content of SPES and degree of sulfonation (DS) were fabricated.

Dominant conduction carriers in polyethersulfone

Proceedings of IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena - (CEIDP'94), 2002
With the development of modern technology, the working condition for insulating materials has become even severer. Electrical insulating materials are demanded to have even higher reliability. Good thermal endurance has also become very important in recent years.

Rheological Behavior of Polyethersulfone (PES)

International Journal of Polymeric Materials and Polymeric Biomaterials, 1995
Abstract The rheological behavior of Polyethersulfone (PES), was studied using a Shimadzu Universal Materials Testing Machine and an Haake Torque Rheometer. It is found that in an industrially relevant range of shear rate and temperature PES was highly non-Newtonian.
