Effect of Doping Microcapsules on Typical Electrical Performances of Self-Healing Polyethylene Insulating Composite

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Polyethylene cables, as important transmission equipment of modern power grid, would inevitably be slightly damaged, which seriously threatens the safety of the power supply.

Thermal Treatment of Melt-Spun Fibers Based on High Density PolyEthylene and Lignin

open access: yesC, 2017
The purpose of this study was the synthesis of novel low-cost carbon fibers along with the investigation of the optimal parameters of temperature and time for the stabilization of hybrid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and lignin melt-spun fibers. These

Research of the polyethylene packaging layer structure change in contact with a food product at exposure to ultraviolet radiation

open access: yesПищевые системы, 2021
The sanitary and hygienic safety of modern packaging is determined by the layer of packaging material in direct contact with the food product. This layer in most cases is a synthetic polymer of the polyolefin class — low density polyethylene.

The Living ROMP of trans-Cyclooctene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The living ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of trans-cyclooctene (tCO) was investigated. ROMP of tCO in the presence of PPh_3 in THF leads to the formation of narrowly dispersed polycyclooctene (PCO).

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A novel method for interfacial energy gap determination

open access: yesScientific Reports
A precise quantification of energy gap for a molecular semiconductor is crucial. However, there has always been a lack of a suitable method which results in an inaccurate measurement.

Post-radiation oxidation reaction of three types of polyethylene films

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao
The long-term, slow reaction that occurs when polyethylene (PE) is exposed to oxygen after ionizing radiation is known as post-radiation oxidation, which significantly affects the long-term performance of radiation-modified PE materials.

An Economical Composite Membrane with High Ion Selectivity for Vanadium Flow Batteries

open access: yesMembranes, 2023
The ion exchange membrane of the Nafion series widely used in vanadium flow batteries (VFBs) is characterized by its high cost and high vanadium permeability, which limit the further commercialization of VFBs. Herein, a thin composite membrane enabled by
