Accurate molecular recognition from the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital

open access: yesScientific Reports
The quantification of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level (LUMO) for molecular semiconductors is of great importance, because it determines the charge transport process and hence the performances of diverse electronic devices.

Complex Band Structures and Decay Length in Polyethylene Chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The complex band structure of an isolated polyethylene chain is calculated within Density Functional Theory (DFT). A plane wave basis and ultrasoft pseudopotentials are used. The results are compared with those obtained via a local basis set. We obtain a gap between the highest occupied molecular orbilar (HOMO) and the antibonding unoccupied molecular ...

Effect of Crystallinity of Polyethylene with Different Densities on Breakdown Strength and Conductance Property

open access: yesMaterials, 2019
In order to study the effects of the crystallinity of polyethylene with different densities on breakdown strength and conductance properties, this paper mainly tests the X-ray diffraction (XRD), different scanning calorimeter (DSC), direct current (DC ...

Electromagnetic Characteristics of Thin Polyethylene-Carbon-Polyethylene Films

open access: yesRussian Physics Journal, 2015
A method of manufacturing a polyethylene – expanded carbon – polyethylene layered structures which allows thin (down to 90 μm) and flexible sandwiches to be easily made, is suggested. The electromagnetic properties of the manufactured composite materials at frequencies from 1 MHz to 3 GHz, 26–37.5 GHz, and 0.1–1.4 THz are analyzed.
