FDM 3D Printed Automotive Spoilers: A Simplified Cost Analysis

open access: yesMacromolecular Symposia, Volume 415, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Additive manufacturing (AM) has become an attractive alternative for producing customized and low‐volume automotive components, particularly in the aftermarket sector. This study presents a simplified theoretical cost analysis for manufacturing an automotive rear spoiler using fused deposition modeling (FDM).

Antibacterial activity and cytocompatibility of Cu-coated PETG for clear aligner applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Prolonged wear of clear aligners may promote plaque accumulation and increase the risks of enamel demineralization and gingival inflammation. In this study, a copper (Cu) coating was fabricated on polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) by magnetron ...

Dynamic Bonds Enable Repair and Reprocessing of Glycol‐Modified PET

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 38, 11 May 2026.
Dynamic hindered urea bonds enable rapid healing in glycol‐modified PET‐based polyurethanes. Tuning the hindered‐amine content allows these polymers to balance mechanical integrity with fast repair, achieving complete scratch disappearance in 30 s at 130°C.

MXene‐Coated 3D Printed Horn Antennas for Ku Frequency Band

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
An additive manufacturing approach to 3D printing horn antennas and coating them with Ti3C2Tx MXene is proposed. Rapid fabrication of lightweight, high‐performance antennas operating in the Ku‐band (12.4–18 GHz) has been demonstrated. The MXene‐coated antennas exhibit comparable electromagnetic performance to conventional, costly aluminum ones, with ...

Non‐Invasive Multidimensional Capacitive Sensing for In Vivo Traumatic Brain Injury Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
Single‐electrode, multidimensional capacitive sensors noninvasively assess cerebral autoregulation and compliance for traumatic brain injury monitoring. ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability, but invasive intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is risky, and current non‐invasive methods lack the resolution and ...
