A brief review on PET - Polyethylene Terephthalate Containers
International Journal of Technology, 2023Due to the tremendous growth of plastics in the world, Plastics have transformed everyday life. The variety of polymers and their special qualities are used to create a range of goods that expand their uses in engineering, medical and other societal advantages. PET is one of the widely used polymer in medical containers and bottling. It is evident that

Electroluminescence in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) (impulse voltage)
Conference on Electrical Insulation & Dielectric Phenomena - Annual Report 1981, 1981Electroluminescence was observed in PET when an impulse voltage was applied. The electroluminescence depended on the electrode material of the cathode and showed only a weak temperature dependence and a superlinear dependence on the electric field. The spectrum of the electroluminescence was identical with that of the photoluminescence originating from

Chemical and Physical Sputtering of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
Plasma Processes and Polymers, 2012AbstractThe polymer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) has been exposed to quantified beams of argon ions and oxygen atoms and molecules. The etch rate (ER) and the surface composition of PET thin films have been analyzed by real time in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Surface charge growth on polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
Conference Record of the 1996 IEEE International Symposium on Electrical Insulation, 2002The way in which charge is produced on the surface of an insulator, and the mechanism by which it spreads, are fundamental processes which need to be understood in order to assess the electric field in the neighbourhood of a triple junction prior to flashover. Previous studies of surface charge development have given conflicting results. In view of the

Continuous Microwave Drying of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
1994Microwave heating techniques have been applied to the drying of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin, aiming to improve the critical operational conditions prevailing in the conventional air drying of that polymer and which may affect the final quality of molded beverage bottles if not carefully controlled.

PET: Polyethylene Terephthalate – The Ubiquitous 500 ml Water Bottle
2020Only 10% of worldwide PET production is recycled. PET is associated with Single Use Plastics, used a few min and discarded. A PET bottle in a landfill takes 500 years to decompose. That same bottle in the ocean will break down into micro plastics that last 500 years. Micro-plastics are consumed by organisms as part of a food chain, which includes us!

Dielectric analysis of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) films
Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2014This paper deals with the dielectric analysis and comparison of two polymers (the PET and PEN films). The structure of the macromolecular chain of the PET film is almost the same as that of the PEN film, but the PEN film has naphthalate instead of phenyl group in the chain. The measurement was performed by the dielectric spectroscopy method.

Simulation and optimization of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) reactors
Proceedings / Indian Academy of Sciences, 1983Recent developments in the area of polymerization reactor design and optimization have been highlighted using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as an example. Both the DMT and the TPA routes for its manufacture have been discussed and it has been demonstrated that a good understanding of the various physical processes present in industrial reactors is ...
