Crystallization of polyethylene terephthalate
Journal of Polymer Science, 1953AbstractA method for following rapid crystallization in polymers using infrared absorption has been devised. The infrared absorption was correlated quantitatively with the density of polyethylene terephthalate for varying degrees of crystallinity and qualitatively with the change in x‐ray diffraction pattern on crystallization of this polymer.

Etching of polyethylene terephthalate
Journal of Polymer Science, 1962AbstractA degradative etching technique has been employed with polyethylene terephthalate films to demonstrate the existence of several different structures, the size of which vary from hundreds of microns to hundreds of Angstroms. The micron‐sized structures are a function of the processing and orientation of the film and occur in regular geometric ...

The photolysis of polyethylene terephthalate
Journal of Polymer Science, 1959AbstractThe photolysis of films of polyethylene terephthalate has been studied over a wide variation of exposure conditions. The rate of polymer bond rupture was measured by the change in molecular weight. The rate of energy absorption upon exposure to near ultraviolet light was determined from an analysis of the emission characteristics of the light ...
