Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Polyethylene Terephthalate and Endocrine Disruptors

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 2010
In the commentary “Polyethylene Terephthalate May Yield Endocrine Disruptors,” Sax (2010) theorized that bottles made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) might leach phthalate ester plasticizers and/or antimony to produce endocrine-disrupting effects. On behalf of the North American producers of PET resin, I have the following comments and corrections.

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

Heating Rate Sensitive Polyethylene Terephthalate

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications
AbstractSmart materials react to external triggers by changing size, color, mechanical properties, or permeability. The next generation of smart materials will be able to not only recognize and react to external triggers but also to their dynamics.

Revisiting Sectoral Liberalization: an Alternative to the FTAAP? Implications on the Philippines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper develops a modality of liberalization for APEC, based on a sectoral level, as an alternative to the politically sensitive Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP).
