Diverse functional polyethylenes by catalytic amination [PDF]
Functional polyethylenes possess valuable bulk and surface properties, but the limits of current synthetic methods narrow the range of accessible materials and prevent many envisioned applications.

Polyethylene-polyethylene microfibrillar composites
Journal of Materials Science, 1993Solid-state drawing of melt-crystallized, or gel(solution)-crystallized, polyethylene (PE) is well established as a means of producing high modulus high-strength fibres. Here, an alternative route, based on melt-processing, is reviewed and its merits are assessed.

Photoconduction of polyethylene
1967 Seventh Electrical Insulation Conference, 1966Electronic conduction in various polymeric insulating materials has been discussed by many investigators.1–10 Since Fowler gave successful explanation to X-ray induced conductivity in plastics on the basis of energy-band theory including electron traps,1 electron traps have been considered to play an important role in electrical conduction, of polymer ...

Polyethylene/deutero-polyethylene phase behaviour
Polymer, 1985Abstract A study of the phase behaviour of polyethylene/deuterated polyethylene (PEH/PED) has been carried out to address the question of phase segregation. The phase diagram has been determined by differential scanning calorimetry on carefully co-crystallized mixtures of PEH and PED that are of essentially the same molecular weight.

Permeability to liquids of polyethylene and irradiated polyethylene
Journal of Polymer Science, 1957AbstractPermeability constants at four temperatures for twelve organic solvents in three polyethylenes and one electron‐irradiated polyethylene are reported, together with some swelling data, and compared with data on N2, O2, CO2, and CH3Br. Irradiation appears to increase permeability and solubility coefficients for large penetrants at low ...
