Taxonomic studiesin Moutabea (Polygalaceae) in Brazil
Phytotaxa, 2018A taxonomic study of the Neotropical genus Moutabea (Polygalaceae) in Brazil is presented, based on the analysis of herbarium material and field collections. Nine species are recognized: Moutabea aculeata, M. angustifolia, M. arianiae, M. chodatiana, M. excoriata, M. floribunda, M. gentryi, M. guianensis, and M. victoriana, a new species described here.

Polygalaceae kozmopolit bir yayılıma sahip, 27 cins içinde yaklaşık 1,200 türe sahip geniş bir familyadır. Ancak, birçok bitki grubu gibi, Polygalaceae türlerinin tanımlanması genellikle çiçek ve meyva karakterlerine bağlıdır, ki bu nedenle DNA barkodlama steril materyalin doğru tanımlanmasını sağlayabilir.
