Multistable Composite Laminate Grids as a Design Tool for Soft Reconfigurable Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Flexible, lightweight, stable: the reconfigurable multirotor combines stable flight in multiple shapes with low‐energy reconfiguration. Utilizing optimized multistable composites, it achieves self‐locking in open and folded configurations, cutting width‐span by 48% and allowing for safe gap traversal.

Linear Complexity Hexahedral Mesh Generation

open access: yes, 1998
We show that any polyhedron forming a topological ball with an even number of quadrilateral sides can be partitioned into O(n) topological cubes, meeting face to face.

Traveling salesman problem parallelization by solving clustered subproblems

open access: yesFoundations of Computing and Decision Sciences, 2023
A method of parallelizing the process of solving the traveling salesman problem is suggested, where the solver is a heuristic algorithm. The traveling salesman problem parallelization is fulfilled by clustering the nodes into a given number of groups ...

Tiling Robotics: A New Paradigm of Shape‐Morphing Reconfigurable Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Tiling robotics is a novel paradigm of shape‐morphing reconfigurable robots, defining them as polyform‐inspired machines capable of transforming between at least two polymorphic shapes. Various reconfiguration‐enabling and locomotion mechanisms of tiling robots are comparatively analyzed, with the electromechanical developments, along with a proposed ...

Proof of concept: Comparative accuracy of semiautomated VR modeling for volumetric analysis of the heart ventricles

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Introduction: Simpson's rule is generally used to estimate cardiac volumes. By contrast, modern methods such as Virtual Reality (VR) utilize mesh modeling to present the object's surface spatial structure, thus enabling intricate volumetric calculations.
