Dual‐Locus Metabarcoding Reveals Dry‐Season Dietary Differentiation Between Elephants and Impalas in a South African Savanna [PDF]

We applied dual‐locus DNA metabarcoding to compare dry‐season diets of African elephants and impalas in a South African savanna. Despite similar dietary diversity, the two species differed substantially in dietary composition, with differentiation associated with fine‐scale taxonomic differences rather than overall dietary breadth.
