A new method for voxelizing mesh phantoms through cross-sectional images
Exposure Computational Models (ECMs) utilize algorithms for ionizing radiation sources and Monte Carlo (MC) codes to simulate radiation transport, its interaction with matter, and to assess the energy deposited in volumes of interest (VOIs) represented ...

An Effective Method for Slicing Triangle Meshes Using a Freeform Curve
Slicing 3D polygonal meshes is a fundamental operation in various applications such as virtual surgery, garment simulation, and game development. Existing methods primarily slice meshes using either a single line or a set of line segments approximating a

Simple and Robust Boolean Operations for Triangulated Surfaces
Boolean operations of geometric models is an essential issue in computational geometry. In this paper, we develop a simple and robust approach to perform Boolean operations on closed and open triangulated surfaces.

A virtual element scheme for the time-fractional parabolic PDEs over distorted polygonal meshes
We extend the virtual element method to the two-dimensional time-fractional parabolic PDE, characterized by a fractional derivative of order α∈(0,1) in time.

Polygon Mesh Generation of Branching Structures [PDF]
We present a new method for producing locally non intersecting polygon meshes of naturally branching structures. The generated polygon mesh follows the object's underlying structure as close as possible, while still producing polygon meshes that can be visualized efficiently on commonly available graphic acceleration hardware.
