Equivelar polyhedral manifolds inE 3
Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1982An equivelar polyhedral 2-manifold in the classM p,q is one embedded inE 3 in which every face is a convexp-gon and every vertex isq-valent. Various constructions for equivelar manifolds are described, and it is shown that, in certain classesM p,q, there is a manifold of given ...

Polyhedral Manifolds With Few Vertices
North-Holland Mathematics Studies, 1984Publisher Summary A (polyhedral) realization of the closed orientable surface ℳ g of genus g is a cell complex M g ⊂ E d whose underlying point set is homeomorphic to ℳ g . So, M g is a model of ℳ g made up of plane convex polygons. The proof of the Heawood map color theorem by Ringel and Youngs gives rise to a series of M g ⊂ E 5 ...

Polyhedral 2-manifolds inE 3 with unusually large genus
Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1983An equivelar polyhedral 2-manifold in the class ℳp,q is one embedded inE 3 in which every face is a convexp-gon and every vertex isq-valent. In this paper, examples are constructed, to show that each of the classes ℳ3,q (q≧7), ℳ4,q (q≧5) and ℳp,4 (p≧5) contains infinitely many distinct combinatorial types. As particular examples,

Polyhedral Metrics and 3-Manifolds which are Virtual Bundles
Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 1999Throughout this paper, all 3-manifolds are closed and orientable. Our aim is to give some new examples of 3-manifolds which are virtual bundles, that is, have finite sheeted covers which are surface bundles over the circle. Thurston has raised the question as to whether all irreducible atoroidal 3-manifolds might have this property.

Invariant manifold connections via polyhedral representation
Acta Astronautica, 2017Abstract In recent years, manifold dynamics has assumed an increasing relevance for analysis and design of low-energy missions, both in the Earth-Moon system and in alternative multibody environments, and several space missions have already taken advantage of the results of the related studies.
