Polyhedral meshes with concave faces
SIGGRAPH Asia 2017 Posters, 2017We study the design and optimization of polygonal meshes with concave planar faces. The motivating applications of this work are architecture, product design, and art. To discretize freeform surfaces into polyhedral meshes, we propose a novel class of regularizers for mesh aesthetics based on symmetries.

Polygonal and Polyhedral Delaunay Meshing
2021We consider construction of a polyhedral Delaunay partition as a limit of the sequence of radical partitions (power diagrams), while the dual Voronoi diagram is obtained as a limit of sequence of weighted Delaunay partitions. Using a lifting analogy, this problem is reduced to the construction of a pair of dual convex polyhedra, inscribed and ...

Untangling polygonal and polyhedral meshes via mesh optimization
Engineering with Computers, 2014We propose simple and efficient optimization-based untangling strategies for 2D polygonal and 3D polyhedral meshes. The first approach uses a size-based mesh metric, which eliminates inverted elements by averaging element size over the entire mesh.

Polyhedral surface smoothing with simultaneous mesh regularization
Proceedings Geometric Modeling and Processing 2000. Theory and Applications, 2000A computer graphics object reconstructed from real-world data often contains undesirable noise and small-scale oscillations. An important problem is how to remove the noise and oscillations while preserving desirable geometric features of the object. We develops methods for polyhedral surface smoothing and denoising with simultaneous increasing mesh ...

Diffusion problem on generalized polyhedral meshes
2014A generalized polyhedron is a topological polyhedron, i.e. a solid defined by a bi-Lipschitz mapping of a polyhedron. The faces of a generalized polyhedron are usually non-planar (or curved) but edges may remain straight line segments. A generalized polyhedral mesh is a mesh containing generalized polyhedra.

Design of a Polyhedral Helix Curve Meshing Reducer
Journal of Mechanical Design, 2014The space curve meshing wheel (SCMW) is an innovative gear mechanism based on the space curve meshing theory, and the helix curve meshing wheel (HCMW) is the most common SCMW. In this study, we propose the polyhedral helix curve meshing reducer (HCMR), which is based on the HCMW group.

Recent techniques for PDE discretizations on polyhedral meshes
Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 2014This brief paper is an introduction to the papers published in a special issue devoted to survey on recent techniques for discretizing Partial Differential Equations on general polygonal and polyhedral meshes. The number of different techniques to deal with discretizations on polygonal and polyhedral meshes is quite huge, and their history is quite ...
