Polyhedral Covers of Tree Space [PDF]
The phylogenetic tree space, introduced by Billera, Holmes, and Vogtmann, is a cone over a simplicial complex. In this short article, we construct this complex from local gluings of classical polytopes, the associahedron and the permutohedron.

One-degree-of-freedom flat-foldable thick-panel origami-kirigami structures: modular arrays and closed polyhedra [PDF]
Origami structures hold promising potential in space applications, such as ultra-large-area solar arrays, deployable space stations, and extra-terrestrial modular foldable buildings.

Integrating geometries of ReLU feedforward neural networks
This paper investigates the integration of multiple geometries present within a ReLU-based neural network. A ReLU neural network determines a piecewise affine linear continuous map, M, from an input space ℝm to an output space ℝn.

Tropicalization of the universal Jacobian [PDF]
In this article we provide a stack-theoretic framework to study the universal tropical Jacobian over the moduli space of tropical curves. We develop two approaches to the process of tropicalization of the universal compactified Jacobian over the moduli ...

State-Space Region-Invariance of Discrete-Time Control Systems
In the paper, the so-called region-invariance properties of discrete-time control systems are considered. An already known notion of positivity of control systems has been generalized (using a kind of geometric insight instead of a pure algebraic ...

Combinatorial and Computational Investigations of Neighbor-Joining Bias
The Neighbor-Joining algorithm is a popular distance-based phylogenetic method that computes a tree metric from a dissimilarity map arising from biological data.

Geometric Model Checking of Continuous Space [PDF]
Topological Spatial Model Checking is a recent paradigm where model checking techniques are developed for the topological interpretation of Modal Logic. The Spatial Logic of Closure Spaces, SLCS, extends Modal Logic with reachability connectives that, in

Rethinking polyhedrality for lindenstrauss spaces [PDF]
A Banach space is a Lindenstrauss space if its dual is isometric to \(L_1(\mu)\) for some measure \(\mu\); it is polyhedral if the unit balls of its finite-dimensional subspaces are polytopes. In [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 23, 378--385 (1969; Zbl 0184.15101)], \textit{M.

Convex analysis on polyhedral spaces [PDF]
AbstractWe introduce notions of concavity for functions on balanced polyhedral spaces, and we show that concave functions on such spaces satisfy several strong continuity properties.
