Detection of constrictions on closed polyhedral surfaces.
We define constrictions on a surface as simple closed geodesic curves, i.e. curves whose length is locally minimal. They can be of great interests in order to cut the surface in smaller parts. In this paper, we present a method to detect constrictions on closed triangulated surfaces. Our algorithm is based on a progressive approach.

Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...

Step‐Associated Cu‐Ceria Interfaces Enhance Catalytic Activity and Selectivity
The catalytic activity and selectivity of supported Cu nanoparticles depends on their interfacial environments, with Cu nanoparticles at step‐associated environments converting CO2 to methanol much faster than those on terrace facets, indicating that step sites create more active metal–oxide interfaces.

The method presented in this paper provides a practical sensorless solution for estimating both contact force and contact location using only standard joint encoders and an available robot dynamic model. By reformulating the contact estimation problem using a single scalar equivalent contact parameter, the approach enables fast and robust computation ...

3D Liquid Crystal Framework Enclosing Dual Compartments
A new type of liquid crystal phase is reported, having the conjugated rod‐like molecular cores form a 3D framework of elongated octahedral cages filled alternatively with alkyl and fluoroalkyl pendant chains. The cages are held together by flexible H‐bonding hinges, making them adaptable to thermal expansion and stable in a wide temperature range.

Quantifying Structure‐Dependent Rigidity of 3D DNA Origami Boxes
We investigate the mechanical stability of a hollow 3D DNA origami box during assembly using liquid AFM imaging and finite element simulations. As structural completeness increases from flat sheets through intermediate assemblies to a closed box, rigidity improves.

High‐loading tin single‐site catalysts (>7.5 wt.% Sn) are synthesized using a nitrogen‐enriched carbon scaffold and mechanochemically assisted pyrolysis to stabilize atomically dispersed Sn. The resulting Sn/N‐C‐M catalyst enables highly selective CO2‐to‐formate conversion (>90% FE across 50–500 mA cm−2) with long‐term durability and operando‐verified ...
